Wesley Hawes is the Executive Creative Director of Innocean Australia – a Korean owned network that creates integrated ideas and solutions for Korean brands, Hyundai and Kia. He is passionate about ideas and the people that help to create them.
Previously, Wez was ECD of CHE Proximity Sydney where ran high-profile accounts, such as NMRA Insurance, Samsung, eBay and IKEA, all under the full-service agency’s ethos of Connected Creativity.
Prior to this, Wez was ECD at Marcel Sydney, where he led the global Tiger Beer account, predominantly from Asia. It was at Marcel that he helped create the Cannes Gold Lion winning Tiger Beer ‘Air-Ink’ project that turned pollution into ink, and the Kenzo/WWF/Tiger Beer collab ‘Rare Stripes’ that highlighted the plight of the wild tigers in Asia.
The majority of Wez’s career was spent at BBH London. During his eight years at Kingly Street he rose to become Partner and Creative Director on the global Axe/Lynx account, creating the double Titanium Finalist Axe Apollo Space Academy with Buzz Aldrin, that sent teenage boys from around the world to Florida to become astronauts.
Wesley’s work has always been highly awarded. It’s effective and somewhat eclectic due to his diverse agency experience. In fact, Wez’s experience is so diverse he’s won Cannes Lions across every main category. Except Pharma, but he’s working on that.
