Priscilla Hajiantoni’s passionate commitment to simple, effective skincare and her innate understanding of the intricacies of building an obsessed customer-base have seen the 28-year-old propelled from the world of corporate finance to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in the space of two years.
Melbourne-based Hajiantoni launched the now globally renowned Bangn Body after a “light-bulb” moment inspired by her mother’s belief in natural skincare. Exhausted and disillusioned by expensive treatments that did nothing for her troublesome skin, Hajiantoni embarked on a tireless two-and-a-half year development process, conceptualising, researching and formulating the cult-favourite Firming Lotion, which hit the market in March 2019. It’s barely stayed in stock since; one trademarked “Yellow Tube of Goodness” sells internationally every two minutes.
Hajiantoni credits Bangn Body’s success to her ability to remain agile in an ever-changing industry while following her gut and trusting her intuition. But it is also her deep understanding of the ecommerce space, her ability to pinpoint and overcome the challenges of talking to an online customer and not at them, that has helped her create waves in the world of beauty. “Going back to my purpose, my ‘why’ for starting Bangn Body, and having experienced hormonal acne and eczema growing up, I felt firsthand the defeat of trying skincare that didn’t work and building up hope that was soon lost,” Hajiantoni says. “I wanted to create a brand that would become a part of people’s lifestyle, that simplifies not complicates, and provides people the support they need on their
skin journey as everyone’s skin is different. “Our innovative, multi-faceted and results-driven formulas are challenging the status quo of beauty and breaking the rules with natural products for the face and body.” Hajiantoni’s rule-breaking continues with the recently launched Discover Face Range, which was in development for close to two years. Hajiantoni had a strict set of parameters for the new products: The multi-vitamin-filled formulas needed to deliver results from the very first application and compliment the core range while standing out on their own.
Again, Hajiantoni had successfully identified a much-needed gap in the beauty market; Bangn Body had to put a rush on the next order to their manufacturer, with the original batch almost selling out on the day of launch. It is emblematic of an exciting and challenging 24 months for Hajiantoni, who has grown Bangn Body from a team of one to a team of 10 and has overseen three warehouse and office space moves in the last year. But while she acknowledges the exponential growth, stratospheric success and accolades, Hajiantoni remains focused on exactly what brought her to Bangn Body in the first place: Learning, growing and helping her customers’ skin and confidence around the world.
