Ruth Haffenden

Ruth is Managing Partner of award-winning creative agency, The Works, where she works alongside the founders to drive both economic and creative growth for the agency, it’s clients and staff.

Following the agency’s acquisition by global digital transformation consultancy, Capgemini in 2020, Ruth also plays a critical role in defining, implementing, and taking to market the group’s connected marketing offering, aligning creativity and technology to deliver accelerated outcomes for global clients.

Ruth joined The Works in 2017, having been hired to launch sister content and social agency Daresay, which she quickly grew into many times “content agency of the year” alongside a roster of ASX clients.

Previous to this, Ruth was General Manager of global content marketing agency, King Content, where she led Sydney operations, across video, design, social, editorial and native advertising functions whilst also running strategy globally for clients across Australia, Asia, London and New York.

Having started her career in London PR agency, Four Communications, she worked on PR and social strategies for world-renowned travel brands including Etihad, Visit Sweden and The Cruise Line Association before taking a role with media agency, Mindshare to drive social media outputs for clients including Mazda and Three mobile.

Ruth’s 13 years of experience span both APAC and European roles. across PR, social, content, media, creative, CRM and technology. Ruth’s career trajectory (and tenacity) have led her to twice be named in B&T’s Women in Media, whilst she is also a passionate and dedicated mentor to a number of up-and-coming industry talents, as well as judge at the annual 30 under 30 awards.  She is also a very proud, 2022 Marketing Academy Scholar.
